The story takes place in the city of São Paulo in the late sixties. It is the saga of a language teacher from a high school in the periphery who is disbelieving and tired of people's words and who prefers to talk to things. Betrayed by his wife, he only gives credence to what the inanimate say. He leaves home and falls in love with the sculpture “Saindo do Banho”, by Victor Brecheret installed in Largo do Arouche, whom he christens Diana. The plot continues when our "hero" is kidnapped by police officers mistaken for a leftist militant. The play focuses on this short moment when he finds himself in captivity, for him a non-place in which he seeks to understand his misunderstanding. In eight short scenes he replays his life and his end.
